Professional borrow pit management contractors in WA. Servicing metro and regional areas including Perth, Karratha, the Pilbara and the South West.
Gajawari KW establishes and manages borrow pits for sourcing structural fill, select material, and general earthworks supply on infrastructure and mining projects across Western Australia.
Operations are executed under compliance conditions with full control over extraction, haulage, and rehabilitation.
We open and operate borrow pits under controlled conditions, managing clearing, overburden removal, and benching to access target material. Extraction is staged for volume control, safety compliance, and haul route efficiency. Pit geometry is maintained to allow concurrent extraction and rehabilitation.
Topsoil is stripped and stockpiled prior to excavation. Stockpiles are formed with controlled height and drainage to retain organic quality for future rehabilitation. Site prep includes access tracks, drainage diversion, and signage prior to machine mobilisation.
Excavated material is tested for grading, plasticity, and moisture-density relationship to determine suitability for use as structural fill, road base, or general backfill. Classification results guide separation, stockpiling, or direct loading for site use.
As sections of the borrow pit are exhausted, we backfill and recontour landforms to match surrounding terrain. Topsoil is reapplied, surfaces are stabilised, and revegetation is initiated in line with closure criteria. This process runs concurrently with extraction to reduce final closure time.
We maintain accurate records of material volumes extracted and locations supplied. Survey data and production logs are used to track depletion, forecast closure, and support reporting to regulators or asset owners.
